Janis Nero Carter is an advocate for children's literacy.
She is the mother of two wonderful college students, Heather, age 25
and Wallace, age 22.
Ms. Nero Carter served for several years as a Girl
Scout Leader to support her daughter and other girls meet their goals.
She also served as an assistant scoutmaster and merit badge counselor
with Boy Scout Troop 96 in Silver Spring, MD.
She works as an IT director at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
in Baltimore, MD. Ms. Nero Carter is also a member of Asbury United Methodist Church
in Washington, DC where she serves as a co-chair of the Higher Education and Campus
